WOW!  I don’t think I have ever been so flabbergasted, until I opened my blog today and found out I was nominated for The Versatile Blogger award!  I didn’t even know what it was, but I do now.  Anyway, thank you to the blogger at “A Map of California” for the nomination.  And, from checking out your blog, it looks like you and my Uncle Ted would have gotten along famously!

So, as instructed, I am now passing it along!

The rules for the Versatile Blogger Award are as follows:

  • Thank the blogger who nominated you (well, duh) and link back to his or her blog.
  • Share seven facts about yourself.
  • Nominate 15 fellow bloggers for the Versatile Blogger Award.
  • Inform each nominated blogger by placing a comment on his or her blog.

So, “Thank you, A Map of California, and here are my nominations:

1.  Austen’s Guide to Happiness  LOVE anything about Jane Austen.  Not that I accept everything without a critical eye, but I do find it absolutely amazing that, 200 years later, this (in her world) unexceptional woman still has a passionately devoted audience.  This article “Is Austen a fan of the double-standard?”  is a must-read!

2.  Our Journey   This is a blog from a young friend and sister-in-Christ.  It’s about family, and faith, and fun!  I really like her one blog on the Greek word “sunantilambanomai.”   Girl did her research there!

3.  Blogging For a Good Book  While I don’t see myself reading all their picks, I find that it is always helpful to get a fresh look at all the varied new publications out there!  Their critiques are never nasty or hurtful, but seem honestly done, and you can get a good sense about whether that particular book is for you or not.  Thanks, guys and/or gals!

4.  Tales From the Left of the Tamar  This caught my interest due to the title and the content.  I am an anglophile as you may have guessed, but I can get even more specific in my obsession.  While I love to be anyplace in the British isles, my first view of Cornwall and it’s amazing beauty left me awestruck!  I must have shot 2 or 3 rolls of film the first time I was there.  (Now consider, I was just out of college, not a lot of money, and was only there for 2 nights!)  Plus, the visual layout of this blog is just cool!

5.  Interesting Literature  Surprise, surprise – another book site!  I love to read so this one is a no-brainer!  AND, it originates in (drum-roll please) England.  Of course, only my favorite spot on earth (except for wherever my hubby is 🙂 )

6.  Angelyn’s Blog  This blog is by a writer who comments on and illuminates matters Regency-era related.  The content is engaging, and often covers areas you wouldn’t think of asking about, but then you immediately want to know more about!  Great job, Angelyn!

7. Cheryl Bolen’s Regency Ramblings  On this blog, I was delighted to find an interview with Jennifer Kloester, author of Georgette Heyer’s Regency World, as well as a newly released (in the USA) biography, Georgette Heyer.  This is another favorite author of mine, or should I say two, as I like Kloester’s writing as well, and look forward to read her first novel!

8.  Plowing the Fields  Can’t wait for this blogger’s Friday Fun Facts!  Check it out to see what you didn’t know!

9.  A Tangled Yarn Knitting Adventure  Some cute ideas on using up excess yarn, and stray skeins left in the bottom of my stash!

10.  Castle on the Hill Jessica Purser’s blogspot about her lovely, literature inspired artwork.  I think I’m going to have to get me some!

11.  Miss Darcy’s Library  Have you ever wanted to be Georgianna Darcy?  Have you ever wanted to know more about her?  Have you ever… Sorry, got carried away!  This blog explores books, through the premise of what a Regency gentleman’s library might contain in today’s world.  There are articles and book reviews galore to explore!

12.  Once Upon a Fable  This is another blogging friend, who is a published author.  I like the way Maxine draws you in – I told her as I started her book Very Truly Yours that I didn’t like her main male character, but I kept reading.  By the end of the book, I had to admit I did like him!  She has a unique perspective on things I think you will like!

13.  Meller Design Studio  My good friend and artist pal (who keeps encouraging me to get back to creating art!)  Her designs and artwork are unique and often seem to relay a positive message to the viewer.  She sees the world in ways I can only envy!

14. This Italian Life  This has got it all – food, recipes, travel, food, language, food!  Awesome!

15.  Una Ragazza in Italy A classic travelogue, but the writing is engaging and frankly, the photos make me want to hop on a plane!
