Focus

I find it hard to focus.  Still.  It’s been 6 months since my world fell apart, and I still struggle to focus.  On anything.  Reading.  Knitting.  Blogging.  Eating the right foods. Anything.

I spend too much time mindlessly playing computer games, scrolling through Facebook.  Mindless.

It’s easier to not think, not cry, not miss my Pooh when being mindless.  But it’s not healthy.  I need to honor God with everything I do, not just existing but living well.  I need to honor Steve by carrying on and doing it well.

I don’t know what’s next, how it will all turn out, but I know that I do not walk alone.  I may need to keep reminding myself, but I know Jesus walks with me every minute of every day, carrying me when I can’t go on, lifting me up when weighed down by it all.  Thank you, LORD, for you constant care and presence.

One Word Prompts

In August, during Blogging 101, one day’s task was to choose one of several one word prompts as inspiration. I started with one, but ultimately wrote using a different prompt. I just found my draft of that first prompt, and decided to rework it. I hope you enjoy!

Love

A choice

An action

 A decision

True Love

not a feeling but a doing

not about how I feel

all about how I choose to honor you,

the hands and feet that I use in service to you

How much love, how do you measure it

The cross

Liebster Awards – going around again!

My goodness!  It’s back!  As I mentioned last week sometime, I was blessed to be nominated for the Liebster award by Camelia Sentry.  Today, I have been trying to clean out emails, catch up on the final 3 days of our Blogging 101 course, and get back on track with The Daniel Plan and life in general.  Open up my blog, and find that the ever-so-kind Anand over at Blabberwockying has nominated me again.  I asked him to give me a few days to mull this over, but he hooked me with his new twist on the usual 11 question routine!

If you haven’t ‘met’ Anand, he is a gentle soul with a sneak-up-and-get-you-in-the-funny-bone sense of humor!  Do visit him, and leave your calling card!  (By the way, I think the term ‘calling card’ deserves an article soon, so stay tuned!

So, I am going to copy Anand’s new twist on the rules here, followed by your next steps, then my nominees!

“In this post I am going to use a new format to save time for others. The rules are same but the quiz is simplified. I am going to request my nominees to take an MBTI quiz online, obviously if they feel inclined to do so. Jung Typology is a simple quiz with 64 multiple choice questions which hardly takes 5 minutes of your time. If you accept the award and nominate others you can tell us about your personality type or keep it to yourself.”

Rules

  • Once you are nominated, make a post thanking and linking the person who nominated you.
  • Include the Liebster Award sticker in the post too.
  • Nominate 5 -10 other bloggers who you feel are worthy of this award. Let them know they have been nominated by commenting on one of their posts. You can also nominate the person who nominated you.
  • Ensure all of these bloggers have less than 200 followers.
  • Lastly, COPY these rules in the post.

My nominees:

So here are my results from the MBTI quiz:

                                                         ISFJ

Introvert(17%)  Sensing(6%)  Feeling(23%)  Judging(6%)

  • You haveslight preference of Introversion over Extraversion (17%)
  • You haveslight preference of Sensing over Intuition (6%)
  • You havemoderate preference of Feeling over Thinking (23%)
  • You haveslight preference of Judging over Perceiving (6%)

Cool!  So, dear nominees, go try it for the fun of it!

Monday Madness

It’s (almost) back to normal here – Blogging 101 has ended, Women of Faith is over, Stonecroft planning meeting done. Hubby still congested from sinusitis, but on the mend. It’s time for -da, da daaaaaaa! Monday Madness!

Yes, this will be my new featured post each Monday. Now you can plan ahead to come and read what’s happening (or you can duck and cover- whichever. I won’t tell.) The results of the poll that I posted last week are a split decision, so this feature will have a split personality. Oh, well, no one’s perfect. So, here we go!

Today, I am going to share with you two simple recipes I created this summer while my friends and I are learning about The Daniel Plan for healthy eating. Enjoy!

Simple Salad Dressing – about 51 calories per serving

1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoons cider vinegar
2 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon agave nectar
1 teaspoon chia seeds
1 ounce fresh or 1 teaspoon dried cilantro
Combine all ingredients, and shake well. Makes approximately 4 servings.

Next, do you have too many blueberries? Then try making this topping for waffles, potato latkes, pancakes, etc.

Blueberry Topping – approximately 8 servings, 31 calories per.

1 pint blueberries
2 ounces apple cider or apple juice
Place in a 2-3 cup saucepan, bring to a boil, and cook for about 5-6 minutes, or until thickened. Place in airtight container, and store in the refrigerator. Yum.

Featuring a Regular feature? Maybe!

Dear readers,

This is Day 15 of our Blogging 101 course, and we have been challenged to try creating a regularly scheduled post about something.  Think “Throwback Thursday” on  The Book of Faces.

So, because I value your opinion, my friends, I am opening (my first ever) poll, so that I can find out what YOU enjoy reading about.  Please take a quick moment to answer the questions below, and thank you ever so much.
