The fear of the Lord is instruction in wisdom, – Proverbs 15:33
We humans seek wisdom. Or do we? Maybe we are really just looking for a confirmation of our own decisions, our way of doing things. Even as Christians, we like things our way, and sometimes expect God to rubber stamp our plans.
Today, our pastor made a surprising statement. He said, “Jesus turns everything upside down.” Think about it. He wad God, but chose to become one of us, human; Lord of all, but chose to live in relative poverty; eternal, but lay in the grave for three days. OUR wisdom would say that he should come at the head of a heavenly army. HIS says, whatever you would plan to do to be my disciples, turn it around and do the opposite! Serve, don’t expect to be served. Become pooor in spirit to become rich in heavenly treasure.
So, our choice is to either follow the wisdom of the world, a “wisdom” that has only created more chaos, or the upside-down wisdon of God. Our decision has eternal consequences.
What will you choose?
Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live, – Deuteronomy 30:19b.
