Throwback Thursday: Phil Everly

As I mentioned last week, rock and roll lost one of its early pioneers, Phil Everly, who died on January 4, 2014.  I knew the music of The Everly Brothers as I grew up, but became a fan around 1985 when I went to several of their concert dates at the Westbury Music Fair on Long Island.  To this day, when I hear Bob Seger’s “Old Time Rock and Roll,”  I think of the Everlys, since their segment of the shows were heralded by that get-on-your-feet-and-go-nuts anthem!  If you don’t know their music, especially the music they published post-reunion, check it out. Several links about the Everlys and Phil’s memorial service are below.
