Ever have a white dog? More specifically, a Blenheim coated Cavalier King Charles Spaniel? Then this is a very important piece of advice for you. NEVER buy a red rug!
Now you are probably thinking, what does one thing have to do with the other? Bear with me on this, and I’ll explain.
The dog came first. Cute, Adorable. Knows it. Gets away with murder because of it.
Then we moved into a townhouse, and needed rugs – one rather large one for the dining room, and a smaller matching or coordinated one for the (way) smaller living area. Went shopping around. Hubby and I hit Lowe’s and he finds a really pretty rug – inexpensive, but well made for the price, and the label says it comes in 4 sizes, two of which are the size we need. So, we get them, and lay them down, put in the furniture, and done. Finally.
Then comes 2 days later. King Charles spaniels have longish, soft hair, with feathering on their legs and tail, and the hair, because it is soft and silky, sticks. To everything. We came downstairs, and no longer had a red rug. It was mostly white. Rusty found the rug, and rolled. All over it.
Never mix a Blenheim Cavalier and a red rug. Just saying.
